Happy Tunesday!

Happy Tunesday Loves!

This week we got some exciting news, which I can’t wait to share when it’s a little more “official official”! But in the meantime I’ve been thinking a lot about our future home and settling down. Zee German has been traveling for business the last couple days, and it’s always funny for me to realize how intertwined our lives have become.

Life just feel more complete when we’re together. And I think it’s really true that the most important thing about a home is who you share it with (thank you Pinterest!).

So in honor of our handsome other halves, I hope you enjoy today’s tune!

Happy National Puppy Day! (puppy cake toppers, puppy flower girls, puppy ring bearers AKA Puppeh Extravaganza! on my blog!)

IT’S NATIONAL PUPPEH DAY!

AKA perfectly acceptable for me to Facebook copious amounts of McPuffer Nugget pictures. Like THIS

And THIS

But in all seriousness, how perfect is today to feature some fun ideas for incorporating our fav pals in our big day?

Maybe with a little puppeh cake topper.

{Puppy Family Topper}{Puppeh Duo}

And of course what E-Session would be complete without your little friends?

{Puppy Engagement Session

And you absolutely have to have them incorporated into the big day itself! How in love are you with the little tutu and the elegance of the Great Danes below?

{Puppeh Tutu!}{Puppies Bon Voyage}{HORSES}

But I have to same my absolute favorite is this styled session with the cutest little Bulldog on Bowties & Bliss. How adorable is this sweet little face!?

 {Bulldog Lovin’}

Ah! So much puppeh goodness!

How are you celebrating your puppies today? Are any of you planning to include them in your wedding?

Happy Tunesday (and first day of spring)!

In honor of the first day of spring this couldn’t be a better pick!

Plus it reminds me of our vacation in Maui and the CD from the Road to Hana. Has anyone else ever done that trip? If not I highly suggest it! You’ll see mixed reviews mostly because it is a long day in the car, but we loved it. Especially as a nice relaxing day to just be together. Though it’s not recommended if you’re renting a large SUV because the road is pretty narrow.

Make sure you go early enough (or plan to stay the night along the way) to spend time at the black sand beach (our favorite!) Waianapanapa and soak in the Pools of Oheo while the sun is still out.

{Pools of Oheo at the end of the Road to Hana}

Enjoy loves!

DIY flowers of the plaster variety, and in other news I got distracted and forgot to post this

I can’t believe I forgot to post one of the most unique DIY flower ideas I came across in all my Robin Hooding Wedding goods!

{Plaster Dipped Flowers on A Subtle Revelry)

How seriously exquisite are these!?

They definitely won’t make it across the border, but will be gracing our house. I may also add them to our Friday luncheon line-up just because they’re so beautiful!

What do you think? Paper or Plaster?

Luch time shenanigans: DIY paper and fabric flowers

2 months to go. TWO months to go until Zee German and I are Zee Wedded Hubby and Wifey!!! Which means it’s creative crunch time. A year of Pintresting, Blog Stalking and Planning is about to be tested for Round 1 (because we didn’t read the fine print that destination weddings are easier ONLY WHEN NOT HAVING A FOLLOW-UP RECEPTION – Future Destination Brides-to-Be you are welcome.).

With the wedding decor being very DIY themed, we figured it’s about time to see just how many of these ideas we can actually do. So with the enlisted help of some sweet co-workers the next couple Friday’s will be dedicated to “Pinterest Crafts”. Up this week: Flowers

Here are a collection of a few of my favorites and links to the DIY Tutorials. Let me know which you think are the best! Have any of you tried making them? Any others I missed? Let me know! {Sharing is Caring my friends}

{Giant Rose}{Mix and Match Pastels}{Paper Collection}{Water Color Corals}

These are a little more structured with a true geometric form and would look great as centerpieces or lining the aisle. And of course the giant variation added a unique touch to the beautiful wedding showcased on Green Wedding Shoes. Otherwise known as the most viral wedding post since THIS arch below. Which just so happened to also be on Green Wedding Shoes. (Talk about your monopoly on beauty!)

{Shaped Crepe Flowers}{The Arch that Launched a Thousand Searches}{Chiffon Classic Beauty}{Crepe Paper Pretties}

This arch was actually what got me into the idea of paper flowers. And how amazing is that design by Jesi Haack!?

The only difficulty is that we’ll be flying in to Mexico and somehow I don’t think transporting enough pinwheels and flowers to make that glorious archway will be too much fun across the border. But hopefully in our experimenting we’ll find a fun, realistic compromise.

So craft away my lovelies and do tell which ones you find most inspiring!

{And don’t forget to “like” my page so we can be Facebook Friends!}

The Anti-Registry Wedding Gifts (That totally don’t suck…)

I hate registries.

Zee German and I just finished ours and by the end I was ready to delete the whole thing from 1.) Dealing with the scanner from the Stone Age – I feel like this could be an iPad+QR Code match made in Heaven, no? Quick scan straight to product reviews and then into the list with the swipe of a finger? Anybody? Anybody?… 2.) No I don’t want to open a store credit card. 3.) Customer service falling very short of McDonald’s drive through standards 4.) NO I DON’T WANT A CREDIT CARD.

BUT. I do realize this takes the cake for first-world-problems. However, even being on the other end of the list. The end where I’m trying to search the list to buy my dear friends something meaningful for the amazing milestone of marriage. And at that end, I have to say I still hate registries.

I hate them because I know that the items are all practical and sensible in that my friends actually hand picked them (though now I believe 50% were the result of a wayward laser that they just couldn’t figure out how to remove. Not like I’m speaking from experience or anything…). So naturally it makes sense that I should get them something from the list. But how does another teal Martha Stewart spatula and mixing bowl set express the years of love and specialness of the moment? But then I risk being the annoying friend who got something off list that has no place in their new home of Zen-ity Zen goodness.

Unless.

UNLESS I were to get one of these little gems, which are super cool and completely blow toaster ovens out of the water!

For the game night (Because that’s SO Married Couple)

{The prettiest Scrabble game you ever saw}

For the bedroom…

{Yes. Let’s}

For the home.

{LEGO WALL ART!}

This is right up there with Star Wars lingerie for the Bachelorette Gift, because we all know guys have and always will want to

feel the force.

And for the lovers…

Wait for it…

Wait….

BABY PENGUIN!!!

Seriously. Anyone willing to smuggle me a baby penguin from Antarctica will be my best friend forever.

I mean.

What do you think about registries? Love them? Leave them? Cheat on them with baby penguins?

Happy Tunesday (yes I realize it’s nearly Wednesday…)!

This song has special meaning for Zee German and me. Early on in our relationship there was a little text situation in which I ended up with the nickname “Fire Chicken” (apparently that was supposed to be “hot chick” – so, I’m not fluent in iPhone emoticons after all. Go figure). And as an equal counter, I decided he would then forever be known as “Fire Penguin” (it was the next cutest animal icon).

But obviously now it’s so perfect! Because penguins mate love for life. And the male penguin is a supper supportive hubby and fierce protector of baby penguins (even unhatched). AND who doesn’t love penguins!?

[See Right]

Zee German.

Me.

Beachy beach.

Penguin bliss.

[Also, THIS post – where I snagged this picture is so fitting]

I mean seriously. Who doesn’t love penguins!?

[Source: Again with the posts on penguin love!]

ANYWAY. Enjoy my loves! What songs are special for you?

Crazy About Coral

For those of you brave souls following my Pinterest addiction boards, it may come as no surprise that I’m ECSTATIC about the Coral Comeback (see also circa 1993 when I could be seen trend-setting in my stylish Coral sweater dresses…With full on big bangs and a piggyback perm, but let’s let the latter RIP)! Even Zee German has noted that I seem to, “…have a thing for Coral.”

Because it works for every skin tone!{EXCLAMATION MARK}!

{BCBG Bachelorette Bombshell Necessity} {Vitamin A Bikini} {The. Shorts. That Pinterest Loves} {Cache Honeymoon – The Dress That Babies Are Made From}

It’s easy peasy to accessorize. And makes you feel like summer just by wearing.

{Kate Spade Is My Homegirl} {Essie Nailed It}

It’s totally versatile. And can be incorporated in pretty much any style you choose.

{Painted Frames Are So Hot Right Now} {As Are Printables…And A Little Thing Called Ombre} {Traveling in Style}

AND can be worn…

{GET.ON.MY.FEET. – AKA Aldo’s Vendetta Against Saving Money}

Who else out there is Crazy for Coral? By the way I wear size 6 1/2 and take all major forms of Aldo.

Let’s tango

This year Pantone announce Tangerine Tango as 2012’s color of the year (and Florida quietly slipped them cash-cash-money under the table…), which to most of you is probably old news. But what isn’t old news is that one of my oldest, most lovable friends is using this hue in her upcoming I Do’s!

In honor of her engagement I put together a little collection of my favorite ways to incorporate this vibrant color into your big day. Let me know what you think.

{Flower Detail} {Stamp Sealed Delivered} {Watercolor Love}

Spread the word that you’re on trend and in style by adding a pop of color to your invites. If you go with the watercolor you get extra trendsetter points with this beautiful new artful way to spread the love. But once you have your invites, don’t forget to welcome your guests with this cute multi-purpose escort or place card idea (or quick citrus snack if your that guest…which I most definitely am).

{Bride Place Card}

 Flowers are one of the obvious choices with so many fun combinations and styles!

{Rose Centerpiece}  {Daffodil Bouquet | Unknown} {Rananculus and Daisy Bouquet} {Centerpiece} {Bridesmaid Bouquets}

And apparently Mother Nature’s been a trendsetter since the beginning with these beautiful floral varieties.

Since my sweet friend is planning her wedding in Portland, I just couldn’t resist adding in these Tangerine tinted birdcages (Put a bird on it! – You know you wanted to say it).

{ Birdcage and orchids} {Hanging Birdcage}

But these ideas are a treat for the eyes and the taste buds, which obviously make them a must-have for any Tangerine inspired wedding.

{Orange Creamcicles with Ceramic Tangerine Tipped Sticks}

{Geometric} {Floral Fondant}

{Tangerine Tango}

Tangerine Juice. Fresh Homemade Ginger Simple Syrup. Rum. What’s not to love about this adult indulgence?

But don’t forget about the kids! Keep them entertained with this fun art set – Just don’t let them near your dress.

{Art Kit}

And last but not least, what would a wedding be without a few fun accessories?

Here comes the Bride. Loud and colorfied…

{Hair Flair} {Chevron Nails} {Kate Spade Statement Necklace}

Here comes the Groom to liven up the room!

{Groomsmen}

Now that you have a few of these Tangerine teasers. How do you plan to tango this year?
